When the shelling started, Raif and Rada, brothers who operated food stalls at the Nova festival, did not worry; after all, there were security guards and an army in the area. Only when the shots got closer to them they started to run away. Very quickly, they lost each other. Raif fled south with other people. Many of them were murdered on the way. At the same time, Rada abandoned the vehicle he was driving and ran towards an Israeli tank while being shot at from all sides and seeing horrors all around him. Raif called Rada, but Rada did not answer. After a disappointing response from the police, Raif realized there was no one to help them.
